Bern airport is medium size commercial airport in the northwestern side of the Swiss Alps just before the thick mountainous region starts rising.
It serves the capital of Switzerland Bern.
LSZB is home to a Rega (Swiss Air-Rescue) base, the Mountain Flyers and the Swiss Helicopter Group (former Heliswiss),

Briefing:
Bern LSZB airport has a steep ILS approach with at 4,00* degrees glide and is situated in between mountains and a built up city.

The 1.668ft. elevation airport has a 1.730m long runway surrounded closely by rising terrain in all quadrants confining aircraft movements in a small area and/or necessitating good climb out gradients.
Only instrument approach available is an 4,0 degrees glide ILS approach for Runway 14 from the northwest above the city. Runway 14 has also RNAV and non precision NDB approach.
For Runway 32 there is RPESCRIBED TRACKS procedure for visual circling appproach which takes you over built up areas without instruments guidance.
