To have SimConnect working correctly in P3Dv3.x the following versions must be installed, regardless of the one that will be used at any time (all versions are available in the redist folder in the P3D root folder - i.e. the location in your HDD where you installed it):

• ..\P3D\redist\Interface\FSX-RTM\retail\lib\SimConnect.msi
• ..\P3D\redist\Interface\FSX-SP1\retail\lib\SimConnect.msi
• ..\P3D\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib\SimConnect.msi

The reason being that later versions have prerequisites that are only available in older versions and if you do not have RTM, SP1 and SP2/Acceleration versions of SimConnect installed it will not work properly (believe me, I learned the hard way ).

Remember, there are addons that use SimConnect to communicate with the simulator, therefore you have to install it regardless of whether you will use a client/server configuration (although if you do, the above applies to both the client and the server machines).
