Athens Fly-In Challenge:
The VATSIM Virtual Airline & Special Operations Team is pleased to present the Athens Fly-In Challenge.
On November 3rd, 2012 from 1700z to 2000z all VATSIM VA and SOA Partners are invited to compete
against each other in a friendly competition. Participants are in for a fun night and automatically entered
for a chance to win prizes from our event sponsors. Please read below for more information.
General Information:
Competitors will have a choice to depart from Rome (LIRF), Vienna (LOWW), or Bucharest (LROP). From
these locations pilots will converge on Athens, Greece (LGAV). Each arrival will earn the pilots Virtual
Airline a certain amount of points. At the conclusion of the event the Virtual Airline with the most points
will be the winner!
Competition Information:
- Only VATSIM VA/SOA Partners will be eligible to compete
- Flights departing before 1700z or arriving after 2000z will not be counted
- Flights from Bucharest will earn .5 points
- Flight from Rome will earn .75 points
- Flights from Vienna will earn 1 point
- Points are based off of route length
- The pilot's Virtual Airline's URL should be placed in the comments to ensure points are correctly
calculated
